What do you do?

A noob and a junior dev. Still trying to keep up with the world.

When the time is right, I'll call myself a Full Stack developer and, later on, just a Back End developer.

But I do call myself a competent Linux sysadmin.

What can you do?

Sure, I can create websites, mess with APIs and create a "Hello World" program in various code languages, easy stuff.

I work mainly with PHP, C{++,#}, D, JS, TS (React), Shell Scripts, Python and SQL.

And while I'll try to stay away from Java, Pascal and COBOL, I'll do my best. Nobody is perfect...

Words aren't enough to prove myself, so I'll gladly show my skills as time goes on.

For now, I need to study moar. And I'll hop in to any updates.

Now, Let's be more personal, shall we?

What do you like?

  1. Old 'n Indie Gaems.
  2. Anime and Manga.
  3. Linux Systems.
  4. Programming for fun.
  5. Philosophy (Marcus Aurelius, Friedrich Nietzsche and Carl Jung).
  6. Free and Open Source Software.

🎮 Which Gaems?

Well, I'll try to list my top 15 out of my head:

Best Unknown-ish
1 Deus Ex [2000] Mad Max
2 Minecraft (w/ Mods) The Longing
3 Doom 1&2 [1993] (w/ Mods) Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
4 Fable MDK
5 Persona 3 - FES HROT
6 Fallout: New Vegas Intravenous
7 Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Odin Sphere
8 RimWorld Salt and Sanctuary
9 NFS Most Wanted ['05 & '12] Sacrifice
10 Grand Theft Auto 3 & 4 Ballistics
11 The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind The Suffering
12 Hearts of Iron IV Slay the Princess
13 Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines Cruelty Squad
14 Thief 1 & 2 Disco Elysium
15 Conker's Bad Fur Day Marc Ecko's Getting Up

Hold down your horses, that's just a list out of my head about the games I've had the most fun with, and I know some of these isn't objectively above 90%, but well...

I had a hell o' a fun time with them.

📙 Which Manga?

No need to ask more.

Mangaka
1 Berserk
2 GATE
3 Spy × Family
4 Vinland Saga
5 Vagabond
6 Monster
7 Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
8 Pigpen
9 Shark

Done. I'll add more later.

🍙 Which Anime?

No need to ask more...

Anime
1 Steins;Gate
2 Monster
3 Psycho Pass
4 Cowboy Bepop
5 Code Geass
6 Death Note

Yeh, nothing too new, and should be expected in any Top 10 (6, in my case) Anime list.

There's others that I specifically don't want to list out which are good too.

🐧 Which Distro?

Anything that works out of the box...

So yeah, I'm using:

 _-----_ saulo@laptop
( \ os Gentoo Linux
\ 0 \ kernel 6.1.46-gentoo-dist
 \ ) uptime 2d 5h 26m
 / _/ pkgs 1905
( _- memory 5312M / 11828M
\____- wm i3

Thank you, not Arch Linux btw.

🤖 Which code language?

Look, there's only one and true language, that surpasses even time itself on how old it's and how well maintained still is: C

I don't care, this language may hate me, but I'm in deep love with it...

How can you not find this cute:

queueType newItem = (queueType) malloc(sizeof(queueType));

Other than that... Lua and Python are cool. Want to know more about Zig, Rust and Nim, they look cool too.

Any day away from Java is a good day.

💭 How do you think?

Well, honestly it isn't my place to talk much, I'm still learning as I go on.

If I can give my advice to you:

Don't let emotions get over your own ego. It causes more damage than what it's worth it, but don't deny them entirely.

Don't give up so easily for anything you hold dear, if you fall 7 times, get up 8.

People tend to forget some of these advices frequently, but true happiness is only when yourself understand your own goals and achievements; Don't underestimate (or overestimate) yourself. Keep a steady list of things to-do and notice your list getting smaller as days goes on.

But, how? Why?

I'm not a philosopher or a psychologist, but I've experienced trains of thought that I’ve noticed others go through as well.

I'm not a saint, nor a devil, I've done mistakes in which I'll live forever with. But there's one thing that I've learned well: You can't change the past, you live with it.

And that's it, you aren't supposed to be right all the time, you will miss even when you're in your late 90s. Miss big, miss small, always miss. Life goes on.

But there's something that I've learned too: The only way to change, is to do it now, not tomorrow, not yesterday, but now.

Life is not worth it.

I've heard alot of fatalistic thinkers, and I've been one too. It's a hard thought to tackle, you always think that, maybe... just maybe. Nobody should be living in a world where suffering is the only thing that's granted.

I'll not start with a but, I'll just say it.

Would you like the world without life?

Without the morning dew, the sunsets, the rain and the singularities of life? Would you like to see a world where nobody will feel the warmth of a hug, the taste of a good meal, the sound of a good music?

Just a pure chaotic emptiness of a lifeless world?

I wouldn't.

My life is not worth it.

I've been there, I've been in the edge of the cliff, looking down and thinking that maybe, just maybe, it's better to jump.

The clift saw me, and I saw it: Myself was down there, looking up at me.

Myself down the cliff, saw me above it, in grandiose. And I saw myself down there, in despair.

That's why the abyss struck me, life is mutable, feelings are mutable.

One day you're happy, the other you're sad. One day you're in love, the other you're in dispair.

But one thing is certain, you're alive. And that's the only thing that's certain.

You're not a mistake. You've been trying so damn hard you broke your own will.

You're not beyond salvation. You're not beyond anything. You're hurt, you're damaged, but that doesn't mean you're a lost case. You're still alive, aren't you?

You're not broken. You're human – you will heal. You'll mend your wounds and come back stronger than you were before. And you can start healing now.

Do what you need, not what you feel. And you need to live.

- Nobody

🗽 Which Free Software do you use (and why FOSS)?

We should live freely and be independent thinkers. We shouldn't be so willingly to give out our data, and be concious in doing so: giving only necessary info.

Your way to live is yours to choose, and yours only.

Anyways, enough with pep talk.

Some softwares that I use wholeheartedly:

And some essential privacy extensions for LibreWolf:

Still, thank you for coming by and good day.
